London City Lionesses have finalized the transfer of Rosa Kafaji, a talented forward previously with Arsenal. The club officially announced the acquisition through a press release this evening, confirming a major addition to their roster.
The Lionesses secured Kafaji's services for an undisclosed fee, with the player committing to a three-year contract. The 23-year-old striker initially joined Arsenal in the summer of 2024 from Swedish club BK Häcken. During her time with the Gunners, she made 19 appearances, scoring one goal, and was part of the squad that won the UEFA Women's Champions League in the 2024/2025 season. Last season, Kafaji gained further experience on loan at Brighton & Hove Albion, where she played a key role in their run to the Adobe Women's FA Cup final.
On the international stage, Kafaji has earned 18 caps for Sweden, netting three goals for her national team. Her international experience adds another layer of quality to the Lionesses' squad.
Expressing her enthusiasm about joining London City Lionesses, Kafaji stated, "I believe this club possesses immense aspirations to establish itself as a top-tier global team, and I am eager to contribute to that journey. Its independent nature also presents a compelling and exciting prospect." She also noted the comfort of familiar faces, mentioning Freya Godfrey and Kosse Asllani, who will ease her transition into the team.
Kafaji's arrival marks the seventh signing for London City Lionesses during the current summer transfer window, underscoring the club's proactive approach to strengthening their squad for upcoming challenges.
